Greening

The territory of the University is represented by classical elements of green building. The main elements of green building are trees and shrubs. The range of woody and shrubby plants defines architectural qualities of plantings, their sanitary and hygienic properties, durability, economic efficiency and stability at application on various objects of gardening.

Selection of wood and shrub plants for the University landscape complex was carried out in accordance with the following indicators – the stability and durability of the species in these natural conditions and conditions of the object of landscaping, decorative qualities – rock composition: the main, additional and limited ranges.

The main range is represented by species of trees and shrubs that grow for a long time in urban plantations and do not lose their decorative qualities (species of local origin): silver maple, sycamore, hawthorn, ash, sumac vulgaris, barberry Thunberg barberry Ottawa, Sumy alterego, Savin, Juniperus.

The additional range is represented by species with high decorative qualities but less biologically durable: european white birch, mountain ash, rowan intermediate, purple crab apple, japonica, spiraea japonica, forsythia intermediate.

The range of limited use is presented in groups of collection plantings. These plantings have educational and educative value, as these breeds require additional care and protection from adverse conditions: maidenhair tree, climbing hydrangea, sharon rose, trailing mahonia, blooming weigela.

Academic buildings, library and dormitory have green areas which are represented by ornamental plants and flowers.
