The research center of the SuperJob recruitment portal presented a ranking of Russian universities evaluating salaries of young professionals who graduated from the university in 2014-2019 in the field of economics and finance. In 2020 VolSU ranks 16^th and remains the same position compared to 2019. The average salary of young specialists who graduated from VolSU has increased and amounts to 60,000 roubles per month.

At VolSU, the training of specialists in economics is carried out by the Institute of Economics and Finances and the Institute of Management and Regional Economy. The educational programmes include Economics, State and Municipal Administration, Management and others.
