VolSU psychologists visit the “Golden Brush” Chinese Creative School

Yulia Borovitskaya, Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Work, and Victoria Rodionova, a third-year student of the Psychology major, took part in the “Golden Brush” International Summer Creative School, which was held in Fenghuang (China) from July 3 to 13. The program offered participants a wealth of new and interesting experiences: creativity, culture, communication—everything a psychologist and lecturer needs. Assoc. Prof. Borovitskaya and Victoria have now returned home and are sharing their impressions.

 “The ‘Golden Brush’ International Creative School was an unforgettable experience,” Assoc. Prof. Borovitskaya says. “Not only because it was in China. It was a journey of self-discovery, inspiration, and new professional ideas. I discovered the world of Chinese painting and philosophy, which is very important for a lecturer, and especially for a psychologist!”

 “The trip to the ‘Golden Brush’ International Creative School in China was an unforgettable experience for me and gave me many vivid impressions,” Victoria notes. “I will always remember the incredibly beautiful landscapes of China. Every day we were surrounded by picturesque mountains, green rice paddies, and an amazing atmosphere that inspired creativity. I was greatly impressed by learning about the culture of the Miao ethnic village. We learned about their traditions, national costumes, crafts, and way of life. It was interesting to see how the locals carefully preserve their cultural values and pass them down from generation to generation. Such immersion in the local culture allowed us to better understand the history and diversity of China. The Creative School was not only a place for artistic development but also an opportunity to meet new people, share our experience, and draw inspiration from the culture of another country. This trip left me with the warmest memories and became an important part of my personal and professional growth.

Victoria Rodionova also became a first-degree laureate of the School and completed a course in Chinese painting, which will undoubtedly be useful in her career.
