The reception was opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uganda to the Russian Federation, Mr. Moses Kauaaluuko Kizige, who noted that from the end of the 19th century until the acquisition of sovereignty in 1962, Uganda was a British colony. Since that time, the country has gone through a difficult path of nation-building and gaining internal political stability.

On behalf of Volgograd State University`s Rector Alla Kalinina, Marina Fadeeva, Director of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication, congratulated the staff of the Ugandan diplomatic mission in Russia, as well as all citizens of this East African country. During the conversation, the representative of VolSU noted that today young people from 47 countries are studying at Volgograd State University, including Galivango Ivan from the Republic of Uganda. Marina Fadeeva expressed the hope that the number of Ugandan students choosing VolSU as the start of their professional careers will grow annually.
