VolSU's new position in THE Impact Ranking 2025

A new edition of THE Impact Rankings by the British Times Higher Education magazine has been published. It assesses the impact of universities on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. THE Impact Rankings 2025 is the first global attempt to measure the progress of universities specifically in relation to the SDGs: from eradicating poverty and improving health and well-being to ensuring gender equality and taking action on climate change.

In 2025, Volgograd State University entered the 801–1000 position group. This year, the number of participants in the ranking has increased – 1,267 universities from 111 countries (in 2024 – 1,093 universities from 107 countries).

In order to be included in the overall THE University Impact Rankings, a university must participate in the implementation of at least four SDGs, including SDG 17 "Partnership for sustainable development". The overall score is formed from the score for SDG 17 (which makes up to 22% of the total score), as well as from the three other SDGs with the highest score (each of which makes up to 26% of the total score).
