VolSU Center for Public Diplomacy held a hackathon on state development aspects

On March 27, 2025, a joint hackathon was held at the VolSU Center for Public Diplomacy with the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting was moderated by Kirill Kryuchkov, an expert of the VolSU Center for Public Diplomacy. The Republic of Uzbekistan was represented by students under the guidance of Doctor of History, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Ranokhon Tursunova, who regularly gives lectures to VolSU students on current topics of world politics at the VolSU Center for Public Diplomacy.

During the interactive event, VolSU Center for Public Diplomacy activists and UWED students shared the most significant events in the history of their country, cultural features of celebrating holidays, touched upon national cuisine, and also noted possible obstacles and opportunities of forming an attractive image of the state.

After the presentations, hackathon participants asked questions with interest about education, especially paying attention to the foreign languages ​​studied, literature and famous Uzbek and Russian writers and poets, as well as significant historical figures.

In the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their readiness to develop cooperation between universities and hold such interactive events not only online, but also in person.

The VolSU Center for Public Diplomacy is always glad to welcome colleagues from Uzbekistan at their events, and the hackathon held on March 27 will not be limited to discussing cultural, value and historical aspects of the development of states. The materials of the event will be included in a joint Russian-Uzbek booklet, which will include the presentation slides prepared by the participants.
