Volgograd State University entered the premier league of the Subject National Aggregate Ranking 2024

The freshly published results of the Subject National Aggregate Ranking 2024 revealed that Volgograd State University has entered the premier and first leagues in a number of scientific fields.

In 2024, Volgograd State University became the leader in the region twice: it entered the premier league in ‘History and Archaeology’ and also covered the largest number of subjects - 25. The university entered the 1st league in the following fields: ‘Information Security’, ‘Computer and Information Science’, ‘Political Science and Regional Studies’, ‘Services and Tourism’, ‘Sociology and Social Work’, ‘Economics and Management’, ‘Jurisprudence, ‘Linguistics and Literary Studies’.

The National Aggregate Subject Ranking is compiled by the Guild of Experts in Professional Education together with the National Foundation for Support of Innovations in Education. According to the creators, this is a finer tool for assessing the achievements of a university in specific areas of science or professional education. Higher education institutions in Russia are evaluated in the context of extended groups of subjects and specialisations, which provides for a correct comparison of the whole variety of subjects and specialisations and also helps applicants to choose a leading university in the scientific field of interest.

The assessment of a university is based on its results in national subject rankings, results of entrance examinations, bibliometric resource databases, as well as the results of recognition of educational programmes by the scientific and professional community and employers.
