Strengthening diplomatic relations
The Centre for Public Diplomacy of Volgograd State University hosted an online lecture by Dr. Ranokhon Tursunova, Professor at the Department of Social and Humanitarian Sciences of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Dr. Tursunova gave a lecture on the topic “Priority Directions of Foreign Policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan”. The speaker noted that Uzbekistan pursues a peaceful foreign policy. The country is a member of leading international organisations and in 2019 it joined the Organisation of Turkic States. The possibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan joining the EAEU and the WTO is still being considered.
During the lecture, transport corridors were discussed; Uzbekistan has no access to the sea, and logistics chains for the delivery of goods are of particular importance to Tashkent. Dr. Tursunova noted that among the republic’s priorities outlined by the country’s leadership, relations with Central Asian states are the most important.
The lecture aroused great interest among the students of the Institute of History, International Relations and Social Technologies, who asked the speaker many questions.
The Centre for Public Diplomacy of VolSU actively and regularly works to strengthen ties with universities around the world.
