The results of the Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THE WUR) 2024 have been published. In 2023, Volgograd State University made its debut in this ranking, which takes into account the performance of universities in the previous year.
In the world rankings VolSU was included in the 1201-1500 group, ranking 1st in the region and 22nd out of 78 in Russia. The university received high scores for such indicators as Teaching, Research environment and Research Quality. In total, more than 2,600 universities around the world took part in this year's ranking.
THE WUR ranking is published annually by Times Higher Education, a magazine specialising in covering events and issues in higher education. The ranking methodology includes 18 performance indicators in five areas: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry and International Outlook. According to the authors, this approach allows THE WUR to provide the most objective and comprehensive assessment of higher education available.
