Delegation of Volgograd State University visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of VolSU Dmitry Ilyin, as well as Director of the Institute of International Education of VolSU Natalia Glazkova, visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as part of the delegation of Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, headed by the General Secretary of the Assembly Andrey Belyaninov.

The delegation visited the Chamber of Industry of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in the course of which the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with representatives of Jordanian government agencies, as well as establishment of new ties and contacts, were discussed. The meeting was attended by high-ranking members of the Chamber of Industry, Mr. Ahed S. Al-Rajabi, Dr. Nael F. Al-Husami, as well as the High Representative of the Greater Amman Municipality, Mr. Saad Abd Al-Ouadoud Yassin.
The members of the delegation took part in the opening ceremony of the first Representative Office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Middle East and North Africa in Amman. The Representative office will become a platform for the development of public diplomacy, strengthening friendly and partnership relations in the Middle East and North Africa region, ensuring sustainable development and building trust and friendship. The opening ceremony was also attended by: Chairman of the Friendship Society Yusif Hamdan; Co-Chairman of the General Council of the Assembly, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Alexandra Ochirova; Chairman of the Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities Dima Hamsho; Russian public figure and economist Mikhail Khazin and other high-ranking officials of state, international and public organizations.
In addition, an official meeting of the delegation with the leadership and faculty of the University of Jordan was held. During the meeting, representatives of VolSU and the President of the University of Jordan Dr. Nathir Obeidat discussed the prospects of joint educational and scientific activity, including joint educational programs, academic exchanges and professional development programs.

Representatives of Volgograd State University also attended the business meeting with the ​President of Jadara University Prof. Mohammed Taleb Obaidat and discussed future directions of joint scientific and educational work within the framework of the previously concluded Cooperation Agreement with VolSU.
During the visit of the delegation to the residence of The Association of Arab Universities (a partner of VolSU under the Cooperation Agreement) and during the meeting with the Secretary General and rectors of Arab universities, new protocols of interaction in the field of global education were considered, namely: creation of interuniversity research centers, issues of international volunteering and academic exchanges, creation of joint educational programs, holding a youth Russian-Arab forum. The agenda of the meeting included the issues of compiling and functioning of the system of the Arab ranking of universities, as well as the prospects of Volgograd State University entering the aforementioned ranking.

In addition, as a result of negotiations between representatives of VolSU and the head of the Russian House in Amman Alexey Bukin, the prospects for participation of VolSU in joint programs with the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office aimed at attracting applicants from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to study within the education quota established by the Government of the Russian Federation were determined.
Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrey Belyaninov expressed gratitude to Volgograd State University for active participation and support in holding solemn events of the Assembly in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
