The first all-Russian Individual Educational Trajectory (IET) Conference was held at the National University of Science and Technology MISiS this week. Mr. Andrey Volkov, Scientific Director of the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, said that the Priority 2030 program is focused on the creation of research and innovative universities whereas individual trajectories serve as a tool for increasing development, the main factors of which are the volume of research activity expressed in different indicators, the volume of development, and R&D in the focus of the educational trajectory of universities.
Mr. Sergey Salikhov, First Vice-Rector of MISIS, stated that it is impossible for a university to provide training for students without the real implementation of IET, which is dictated by the current life and which will have to be fully realized in the Priority 2030 program.

Mr. Sergey Roshchin, Vice-Rector of Higher School of Economic, noted that models of constructing individual trajectories are associated with a combination of instrumental knowledge, instrumental skill and an understanding of subject tasks in engineering and social sciences, and respond to the challenges of the instrumental revolution in relation to many subject areas of activity. He also commented on the importance of project activities in the educational process: ‘Innovative projects related to developing technologies are always a set of different tasks that should allow students to form different interdisciplinary competencies’.

Mr. Evgeny Szhenov, Scientific Director of the analytical center "Scientific and Educational Policy", highlighted that individual trajectories are a key factor and a tool which will help universities to speak the language of the future in the following 10 years.

Mr. Andrey Volkov, Scientific Director of the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO pointed out that the way we have been studying for the last hundred years is a deviation from the millennial individual approach and that these last hundred years are an industrial era in education, in which individual trajectories are the essence. If an educational institution cannot pick up the "difference", students get bored. He believes that individual educational trajectories are a historic return to the mainstream education, which will be passed.

The key speakers discussed current issues of building and implementing individual educational trajectories. The experience of Higher School of Economics, the reasons and forms of changes in the model of individual educational trajectories are exciting. Mr. Volkov, as during his training at Skolkovo, clearly and figuratively outlined not only the models of IET integration, but also the possibilities of the concept "2+2+2", which made it possible to clearly structure the new tasks for universities and to ensure the relevance of the priorities set in the development projects of Volgograd State University. Individualization of educational trajectories is a system tool for the development of universities in modern conditions and is impossible without digital transformation. An important thesis about the model of interaction with employers, which require taking into account the time cycles, is interesting. A university is a structure that teaches students to be ready for changes, and I fully support the opinion of Mr. Roshchin in this regard.’
