New opportunities for foreign students in Russia

A law that simplifies the employment of full-time foreign students, studying at higher educational institutions under an academic program with State Accreditation, comes into force in Russia. Now they will have an opportunity to be employed legally in this country without a work patent or permit. In addition, employers are allowed to hire them without obtaining a permit to engage foreign labour.
This new law will help expand the students’ opportunities for language and cultural immersion as well as overcome financial problems.
During the pandemic many foreign students had difficulties not only with tuition and accommodation fees. VolSU tried to help them by purchasing food, medicines and antiseptics. The University pays a lot of attention to the foreign students’ socialization. So several volunteer projects are implemented by the Institute of International Education and International Office.
