Volgograd State University confirms its high scientific and educational potential, annually entering the authoritative international and Russian rankings.

The high quality of VolSU graduates is proved by the results of the RAEX-100 which estimates the best universities in Russia. The ranking assesses the ability of universities to provide graduates with a high quality of knowledge, skills and abilities. VolSU has entered the ranking for the eighth year in a row and in 2020 it takes 67^th place. This is the best result among the universities of the Volgograd region. VolSU also demonstrated a traditionally high level of research activities ranking 57^th among Russian universities.

According to THE University Impact Rankings published by the British agency Times Higher Education, Volgograd State University is one of the most influential universities among 850 ones in the world within its contribution to 17 SDGs identified by the UN. The Universities are assessed by several indicators such as good health and well-being; quality education; gender equality; decent work and economic growth; responsible consumption and production, etc. The best result VolSU demonstrates in “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”, taking 62^nd place in the world. The University has entered top 200 universities in “Decent Work and Economic Growth” and “Gender Equality”.

U-Multirank evaluates how universities correspond to modern trends and meet the needs of the younger generation. This year Volgograd State University has entered this international ranking again along with 44 leading universities in Russia. VolSU has got the highest scores in the category "quality of education" (grade B) and "regional engagement" (grade A). According to the results, VolSU students highly estimate the digitalization of the educational process, the level of organization of educational programs in terms of interesting material representation as well as the comfortable atmosphere while learning and direct contact with the faculty staff.

In 2020 once again Volgograd State University entered Round University Rankings (RUR). VolSU has moved up 18 places compared to 2019 among other 71 countries and is ranked 65^th in Russia. It should be emphasized that VolSU showed the best result among Volgograd universities. It ranks 55^th among Russian universities in research quality and 57^th in teaching quality.

Volgograd State University ranks top 500 according to the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking. It is 17^th among Russian universities and the only one in Volgograd. VolSU is the leader in environmental education and scientific activity. The campus is a special pride of VolSU. In recent years, the University green park has become a place of walks and relaxation not only for students and staff, but also for residents of the city. Near the educational buildings of VolSU there is a bicycle parking, areas for team sports and a workout area. The territory of the student garden over the past few years has been inhabited by falcons which are one of the symbols of the Volgograd State University.

The fact that IT specialists, economists and lawyers graduated from VolSU receive high salaries is confirmed by the ranking results of the SuperJob research center. VolSU has entered the top 20 of the Russian universities in the level of salaries of young specialists who graduated from the university in 2014–2019 and are working in the IT industry. In the level of salaries in the area of economics & finance as well as in legal sector, VolSU is in 16^th and 14^th places in 2020 respectively. The average salary level of VolSU graduates has increased to 65,000 roubles per month.

The annual presence of Volgograd State University in the leading rankings confirms its status of a center for technological, innovative and social development of the region as well as the effectiveness of the implemented University 4.0 conception.
