The ceremony was conducted via videoconferencing. Irina Usacheva, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Informatics and Mathematical Methods in Economics at Volgograd State University, became the laureate of the award.

The winning project is devoted to creating an information system for evaluating the effectiveness of introducing and utilizing renewable energy sources in production during transition to the smart production concept.

The research was conducted as part of the implementation of a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for state support of young Russian scientists with PhD degree in the field of information and telecommunication systems and technologies. In 2020, Irina Usacheva won this grant in collaboration with Elena Gladkaya, senior consultant of the Consumer Market Analysis Department of the Center for the Development of Industry and Trade, who also became the laureate of the award.

First Vice-Rector of Volgograd State University Valentin Dzedik presented the awards to the scientists.

Our project is aimed at solving the scientific task of creating an information system for evaluating the effectiveness of introducing and utilizing renewable energy sources in production. We hope that our solution will help regional enterprises meet international and national requirements for energy efficiency and energy conservation, develop and be more competitive not only in Russian market, but also in international ones,” Irina Usacheva said to her colleagues in her welcoming speech at the award ceremony.

Irina Usacheva also stressed: “The developed system allows industrial enterprises to smoothly introduce renewable energy sources into its energy system and choose the most efficient mode of operation of the energy supply system as a whole, both technically and economically.”

According to the press service of the Administration of the Volgograd region, awards were presented to young scientists, innovators and research teams whose projects were recognized as the most promising.

“Scientific achievements are an invaluable contribution to the development of not only our region, but also the whole country. Science remains the main driving force of scientific and technological progress, the most important component of national wealth, a powerful resource for economic development, and scientists are the elite, the country's treasure,” First Deputy Governor of the Volgograd Region Alexander Dorzhdeev noted.

“The work of our scientists has been repeatedly evaluated at the federal level and has been awarded with prestigious government awards. We understand that without active practical implementation of the latest scientific solutions, the Volgograd region development is impossible today. The region supports the innovation promotion, helps young research teams, creates favorable conditions for the science development. The achievements of scientists are the result of long and hard work, and we are confident that their solutions will make a significant contribution both to the research sphere and to the socio-economic development of the region,” Deputy Governor of the Volgograd Region Zina Merzhoeva said, congratulating scientists via videoconferencing.
