The library of Volgograd state University is one of the largest university libraries in the region. Its mission is to provide every reader with high-quality and effective access to any information resources that contribute to their educational, scientific and professional activities.The new large library complex was put into operation in 2014.
Its fund includes about 700,000 publications and allows providing qualitative educational and scientific processes in the university.
The students of VolSU are provided with educational literature in accordance with the standards of the Ministry of science and higher education of Russia. Special attention is paid to the acquisition of foreign publications: the library has unique books in English and German on economics, law and philosophy.
The pride of the university is the department of rare books, which contains pre-revolutionary publications, documents from 20-30 years of the twentieth century and modern books which are of artistic value. The university library offers its readers the opportunity to use periodicals (over 500 titles), among which reference journals and current bibliographies are very valuable.
It should be noted that librarians organize thematic meetings for book lovers every month. For example:“Reciting Pushkin’s poems in different languages” or literary evening “Alone responsible for all: Antoine de Saint-Exupéry”.

Monday-Thursday - from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday - from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday - from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday - day off
Last Thursday of the month - closed for cleaning.
