Living Expenses:
One of the most important question is 'How much money I've to take to Russia?'. First of all. it depends on your life style and your financial capability. below you can see an example of a feasible budget for one month in Russian rubles:
  • Food: 5000 rub.
  • Accomodation: depends on place where you will live. Dormitory - 3000 rub., flat - from 7000 rub., hotel - from 1500 (for one night)
  • Cell phone: 300 rub.
  • Midical insurance: from 1500 rub. (for 6 month). The price depends on period of your staiying in Russia and insurance coverage conditions
  • Public transport: 1000 rub.
All international students should have  a medical insurance in Russia. The students who got insurance in their contries of citizenship should make sure that it is in force in Russia. If you have no insurance you can get it in Volgograd. We cooperate with various insurance companies, which help our student to get insurance.

Acording Russia legislation, all payments in Russia are accepted in rubles. You can change money in any bank in Volgograd (you'll need pasport and visa). Most commom cards can be used in shops, restaurants, clubs and etc. (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and others).

It is rather warm from May till October: +10°C – +35°C. In winter it can be rather cold (especially in February): -5°C – -25°C.

How can I get to Volgograd?
Volgograd region is located in the south part of Russia (900 km from Moscow). Volgograd is the administrative center of Volgograd region. The population of the city is over 1 million people. You can get to Volgograd by train, by bus or by airplane.

How can I get to Volgograd State University?
There are several variants to get to VolSU (Volgograd State University stop, address: prospect Universitetsky, 100):
  • From the airport “Gumrak”: by taxi (price: 300-500 rub.), marshrutka № 80А (price: 40 rub.). 
  • From the train station: by taxi (price: 150-200 rub.), marshrutka № 28, 15 (price: 20 rub.).
