The visit began with a meeting with Rector of VolSU Prof. Dr. Alla Kalinina. The rector introduced Mr. Ambassador to the university, the educational programs implemented, scientific research conducted, as well as international activity.

"VolSU is a partner of University of Tehran, which it organizes joint events and public lectures with. In total, 400 foreign students from 40 countries are currently studying at VolSU. We are ready to develop cooperation with University of Tehran in the scientific and educational sphere," Prof. Dr. Alla Kalinina said.

His Excellency Kazem Jalali thanked the rector for the presentation of the university and noted that relations between VolSU and universities of the Republic of Iran should be definitely developed.

"The number of Iranians living in Russia is still small, they don't know much about your country. But most of them are young people, students. Their number needs to be increased, they can become those who will establish new contacts between our peoples. One of the best manifestations of relations between countries is joint scientific research. We are ready to provide an opportunity for joint scientific projects," Mr. Ambassador said.

Mr. Ambassador also delivered a lecture titled "Russian-Iranian relations at the present stage" to VolSU students.

He also mentioned the development of the International North–South Transport Corridor, which they have been discussing with the Governor of the Volgograd region Andrey Bocharov at a business meeting earlier that day. The Volgograd region is an important part of the transport corridor. It should be noted that in 2021, VolSU witnessed the creation of a scientific and educational center for the Caspian region studies, whose tasks include informational and analytical support of the International North–South Transport Corridor projects.

Mr. Ambassador answered the questions of the audience and also summed up the results of the visit to Volgograd State University.

"At the meeting with Rector Alla Kalinina, we discussed that Iranian scientists and professors already have contacts with your university. We will develop our scientific cooperation, as we have already agreed with the rector. I would like to congratulate you on having such a rector: she is very interested in the development of the university and is far-sighted," the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation said at the end of the meeting.

His Excellency Kazem Jalali left an entry in the honorary guest book of the university, expressing confidence that relations between the Republic of Iran and Russia will expand and develop with each day.
