September 1 is a very important day. This is the starting point for those who teach and for those who study. For each person, Knowledge Day is filled with the light of happy memories of solemn school assemblies and classes, joyful expectations of a new stage, new meetings and congratulations.

Today, hundreds of yesterday's schoolchildren will enter Volgograd State University in the new status of students of the first classical university in the region. Congratulations to our freshmen! Welcome to VolSU! I am sure that this choice will allow you to realize yourselves, to show all your talents, to become successful graduates and in-demand specialists, whom we will be proud of. I am grateful to your parents and school teachers, who taught you to strive for knowledge, dream and achieve your goals.

Our dear upper-year students, graduate and postgraduate students! I hope that this academic year will be marked for you by new projects, interesting opportunities, achievements and success! Remember that our university is always ready to support your initiatives and create conditions for the development of your abilities and your professional growth.
