In 2020, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation allocated 17 million roubles to modernize the infrastructure of VolSU, including measures to ensure the anti-terrorism security. The students are also involved in the renovation process by offering designs of future recreational areas.

The modernization program meets the needs of the students and includes those classrooms that they discussed during a Общественное пространство (корпус В).jpgmeeting with the rector. In addition, recreation areas for students will be created in "B" and "G" buildings (ru: “Б” and “Г”).

The long-awaited renovation of the events hall in "K" building is going to start. As the events hall sometimes hosts the classes, it will be equipped with soft armchairs with folding desks.
