Measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus

Starting March 17, Volgograd State University students will study remotely until further directions.

Students will continue their classes by using electronic information and educational system m.volsu.ru, e-mail, and, if necessary, online broadcasts and other educational technologies providing for the interaction of students and academic stuff at a distance. The implementation of educational programs will be fully provided. All university events are cancelled for uncertain period of time.

Exchange students can decide whether to stay at Volgograd or return to their home country. In case you decide to go home you must notify the International Office and dormitory administration about your departure and indicate when you plan to leave and return. This is standard protocol that is unrelated to measures taken in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

In accordance with Order No. 398 of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation dated March 14, 2020, Volgograd State University provides daily wet cleaning using disinfectants with a virucidal effect, VolSU medical unit operates in an intensive mode and contactless temperature control is organized at the entrance of the university.

We advise to follow the simple rules to prevent coronavirus infection:

• Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water, or an alcohol-based solution.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

• Practice social distancing. Reduce social activity and, if you really need to meet someone, maintain a 2-meter (6-foot distance) between two of you. 

• Stay at home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, call for medical attention and follow your doctor’s instructions.
